Yeh. Maybe I need to chill a bit more. LOL.

I just find it difficult to sit there like lemon reading manuals all day.... :-(

Much rather be getting on with something productive.

three weeks and still no PC !!!

I've read lots of manuals though. To be honest, in the time so far I've probably done about a days worth of 'work' for the customer.

My daily rate for that work is humungous !!!!

Keep plugging on and pushing for your equipment. If it will take longer talk to your line manager about using your own laptop, if they will let you do that.

Took me three weeks to get a PC on one job, it was such a bad place, I jacked in after 6 weeks. Another place gave me everything in first week but didn't give me a mouse. I brought my own in by day 3 but client co IT dept kept insisting I couldn't use it! Took 2 months to get a mouse provided, the entire job was only a 4 monther! Of course, all that time I ignored the stuff about not using my own mouse, but it shows how stupid some places can be.

Well, I've got a temporary laptop now. No access to email, servers etc but internet access at least.

Well, this a 3 monther with possible extensions. Must admit the fact that its three weeks in and no-one seems particularly bothered that I'm not doing too much, is probably good news for an extenssion.

I am currently on day 3 of a new contract and haven't done any real work yet because the people I need to speak to are unavailable for one reason or other.
I have no doubt the client will get more than their money's worth on other days
