Have worked from Brotherton in the past. I don't know the situation in Centron, but contractors were refused entry in Brotherton last time I was there and you were forced to park in the residential cul-de-sac outside, or the Forum car park over the road. The residential people were constantly calling the council to get cars towed, and the Forum security would leave notes on your car saying if you're not there for shopping, your car will be towed. Not a conducive working environment.

I'd concur about staying out of the shopping centre as it's pikey central. I used to go to the Boots next to the Police Station and head back.

That building used to be a Shell building back in about 1995 when I was there. It was odd looking out of an office window into somebodies house. A woman in the office once told me how some yoof had flashed a gun at her through the window. Another pointed out where some people had been evicted from their house and how their neighbours stole their concrete garage. We were told when leaving the Shell carpark to lock the car doors - the exit had this retractable gate (opposite the DSS building round the corner) and the locals nip in and rob you while you sat waiting for the gate to slowly retract.

Yeah we sorted that out late last year, there were at least 30+ spaces availble in the car park most days yet we were having to find spots all over Wythenshawe. So I kicked of discsssion with facilities and securty and we now have a more sensible approach to things.

Grenades, guns, council estates, yoovs, stolen cars, being mugged... ah, reminds me of my days at Provident Financial in Bradford.

Depends how much you want to spend and how close you want to be. Wythenshawe isn't known for being a salubrious area. I live in the NW so I don't need to stay around there but there are several much better areas not too far away with Travel Lodges and B&B's etc. If you don't mind a few miles drive places like Knutsford, Wilmslow (expensive places) are handy. A bit further afield in Cheshire places are a lot less expensive but still nice, depends what you want really.

I know a nice little b&b 10 mins drive away in handforth. You will be able to stay there for around £20/night. PM me for more info.

I worked at another Lloyds location and visited Wythenshawe a couple of times, its not that bad a building actually inside but the area is the pits.

No car parking unless you get there at 7am and if you have to park on a street, be prepared for damage.

When I worked there we(the contractors) had a deal with the private car-parking company that owns the top floors of the multistory car park near asda. They issued electronic passes and billed monthly.

I really enjoyed my time working there but as has been mentioned, watch yourself when in and around the precinct.

Dress code used to be extremely casual so that we didn't stick out like sore thumbs when walking through the precinct at lunchtime etc.
