£170 a day - I just wonder how I get out of the car park on that rate?
I'm getting pretty pissed off with so called "specialist recruitment agencies" who agree to these sorts of rate - and don't anyone bull tulip me about the client beining 'short of cash'?

I worked on EPR - End Point Registration for NHS Spine, this doesn't sound like the same EPR though. I was on considerably more than 170 a day tho!

        I can beat that one

        received a few days ago

I have an immediately available Sharepoint developer role based in Bedford. The role will be working on a Payment Portal for a large consultancy.

The role is highly urgent, starting work this week preferably. The requirements are:

        - Experience with Sharepoint 2007, the project is in 2010
        - C#
        - Workflow

The role is for 3-months initially with a very good chance of extension into 9 months. It is based on site in Bedford and is paying £150 per day. I appreciate that is much lower then the day rate you would normally expect but, I thought I'd send it to you incase you knew of someone or just wanted to jump straight in to a role.

              EPR

*EPR = Electronic Patient Record......they were looking for a PM who also have a strong clinical background.....which made the daily rate even more derisory.

Not really. On £90 a day there would be no taxes to pay or nearly nothing. The equations is not as simple as taking 1/3 off. After expenses and minimum salary there would be barely anything to pay in terms of CPT.

However you would be better on a permie salary than that contract. Even on something like 22k

Ok, let me just look very stupid for a moment.

I know that the Middle East is tax free, but what happens when you bring you're hard earned cash back into the UK? Does Inland Revenue want a slice of it at assessment time? Do you stow it all away in a foreign account? I've often wondered but never asked!
