Dunno, to stand out these days you need to NOT have degrees and show you're just great at what you do to stand out. Everyone has a degree, yawn, and are worthless too in many cases.

Least impressive person in a team I'm working with at the moment up North shocked me when they said they have a Bach and Masters and about to start a Phd, they're a right numpty (a comment that has been heard from multiple sources on their abilities). I was under the impression they came from some low paid blue collar job and got a lucky break in IT at an older age. Nearly 50 too but just doesn't seem to get anything.

Don't think it's lack of a degree holding OP back, possibly confidence, or their approach to work/business/life

It's the fact UK immigration requires a degree in the OP's case.

Not exactly tricky to get a degree from some Indian institutions if your pockets are deep enough...

But said degree has to be qualified by UK's NARIC and more often than not, Indian degree in Higher Maths is deemed equal to a CSE in Domestic Science...

Apart from that, the Tier 1 category is not closed for new applicants, so I am not sure how he can enter UK apart from Tier 2 ICT or Student (MBA course). If Tier 1 was there, then he would have to worry about not having bachelor/master's degree.. or I might be talking rubbish
