Hi Guys,
After almost three years working as a permy, I finally got the push I needed to move back into contracting. My entire division is in a consultancy period in regards to redundancy.
These jokers actually expect everyone to apply for "new positions" read carefully scripted job descriptions which match up about 70% with what the jobs that are now redundant are. About half the positions exist, and everyone is expected to apply. Get this, people with software experience be they consultants, developers, team leaders, managers, presales consultants are "interchangeable"
Just like the old racists, we all look the same to them.
Expect to see a lot of people joining the contractor market in the North West in the Java, J2EE, JavaEE, WebSphere, SOA, Project Management, Cloud, Portal Server, BPM, WebSphere ESB, and Lotus Domino arenas (there are a lot more, but those are the core ones).
