Europe-wide Car insurance

I may be starting a contract in Germany and would like to use my car abroad.
So, I need a fully comp policy that has unlimited use in Europe and maybe business use.

I've already got a quote from StuartCollins whom I've used before but it's come in a bit steep this time.

Does anyone know of any other policies.

I've tried ecar with their 365 day European cover but there is some confusion about the usage of the car. They describe their policy as 'for travel only', whatever that means.

Have you considered renting a car in Germany long-term or when needed?
If you combine TCO it may end up cheaper perhaps?
Another avenue is to try and insure it abroad but that is a lot of hassle.

I insure my car with LV and I am allowed like for like cover in Europe for max 18 days per trip. I have clarified the 'for travel' clause and they say you cannot and will not use the cover for business travel but you will be covered for social, domestic and commuting as in the UK.

You will not be covered for example if you need to use your car for your work abroad.

Cost me an extra £23 per year.
