No, Dodgy. If the client breaks the relationship of trust between you, the trust is broken.

If you then react because of that, that is sulking.

If you merely then change your attitude from "I have the right to give notice but I will go above and beyond the contract, and not think about giving notice" to "the client was prepared to give me notice, so I'm prepared to give him notice", that's not sulking. That's just not being taken for a ride.

    Another reason why I contract.

Why is it a 'fair argument' when he says it, but I'm a 'redneck subversive' when I say it?

Because you dont debate anything Denny. When someone challenges you, you concede absolutely nothing. You possess a "redneck" dogma that appears to ring fence a rich seam of bigotry and ignorance. In fact your problem is your insecurity. You do not have an inquisitive ounce within you, merely a repertoire of opinions that are substantiated by your desire to only look at or listen to things that support them. Occasionally people agree with you (even me), because by sheer statistical logic someone is going to agree. Whilst it is clear that you have a brain (one has to look hard) You must be a complete nightmare to manage.

You are in good company however (cue AtW)

You clearly belong to the 'a nice balanced argument' approach to 'foster debate' which doesn't actually mean what you want it to mean.

I write for a living and, yes, I am opinionated - but for good reason.

I also happen to believe that a 'balanced' argument is about having your facts straight, the ability to think clearly and the ability to articulate those thoughts in writing by forwarded an argument based on those facts. What a 'balanced' argument is NOT about is 'watering down my views to accommodate opinions based on what others want to hear and not what I actually believe is the case.' If that results in you reading a 'one sided view' none of what you want to hear then it is still 'balanced.'

We're not at a dinner party engaging is social politics, DA. We're writing on a forum that is designed to generate viewpoints based on experiences and to help those who need it...and maybe have a laugh or two on the way.

If I have anything good to say about the recruitment industry - I say it. If I don't I will say why. What I won't do, under any circumstances, is 'arse lick' recruiters - contributors on this forum or otherwise - just to appease them for political gain because I believe that the situation as it currently stands can't or won't change.

Call me a 'redneck' if you will. I don't really care. The truth I do care about.

It is YOUR truth that you care about Denny. I dont believe in "nice balanced arguments" Denny, I believe in my own arguments but I am happy to accept arguments of others that may even have the effect of swaying my own arguments. Just look at what you said in your post, if you have a modicum of objectivity about you, you will see how ridiculous you look.

                      OK, you're on.

Tell me what important 'facts' I have got 'wrong' on issues we've debated recently that would undermine my credibility on this forum and would give rise to your opinions about me. I'm not talking here about silly jokes on the general forum about umbrella companies and 'umbrella dispensations' or odd typos or overzealous statements that I've modified soon afterwards. I know I've made a few of those too which has given rise to some misunderstanding about my position because they were carelessly stated. I'm particularly referring to is the recruitment industry model and the way that it operates. Please refer to my 'helpful advice' thread which I think would be a useful tool for this exercise.

I'm putting myself on the line here - and I'm inviting you to 'shoot me down.'

I just hope you're up to the job.
