New Gig Starts Soon! - Anyone getting lots of Agency Calls?

Hi All,

Just landed a quick start gig due to issues on the client side and they need a Programme Mgr yesterday ..However, I am getting tonnes of calls via Agencies for loads of other opportunities and "face to face" interviews? Is the market picking up I ask or (based on some of your posts) these are "Phantom Roles"?

I also just heard about a lot of Public Sector outsourcing because a certain resourcer has been ousted for the next tax year?? Could be happy days?

Busy over here - Lots of opportunities, and people people stiffed because contractors are offered and not accepting (other irons in the fire) - It's kicked quite a few people into more prompt action!

Things do seem to have improved and (until I stopped them) the number of email alerts has more than doubled over the past couple of weeks.

Yep, my email has gone a bit bonkers over the last few weeks. Strangely, my phone hasn't. But then I very, very rarely answer the damn thing, so I guess agents got the message.

Me too. If they have a job, they leave a message.

yep finding it busy too. found a gig in less than a week, replied to an add, interviewed and was offered a role in less than 24 hours in feb.

Getting quite a few emails direct from agents in my linkedin inbox too.

*Yeah! Was out with a contractor mate over the weekend and he managed to get a decent gig via facebook of all places! Seems that a hiring manager was a friend of a friend and the interview (15 mins) was conducted partially on facebook and partially on the mobile - happy days!
