lol! I was told that with my first gig. It was my first contract and I was in my early 20s so I paniced and took it (and it wasn't that bad in the end) but if an agent said that now, I'd laugh at them.

You are fully entitled to decline a contract opportunity that is subject to contract. It happens all the time.

WHS. I've done this with no problems. You can't finally accept the contract until you're happy with all the contractual terms. You can only do that once you've seen it...
