    Just done my Self Assessment and they OWE ME!!!!



    £845 overpaid on personal tax for 2009/10 (due to payments on account)

                ah yes but are you expecting to get a refund anytime soon. I am still waiting after 4 months of them confirming I am due a refund and have all the paperwork but waiting on "back office" to process it. They say they are doing in 4 weeks from application but thats total tosh. I was told it will be done when its done, and i am welcome to make a formal complaint if I want! Calling back every 30 days and chase!

                  Immediatley after completing my SATR I contacted my accountant and asked to have my on account payments reduced as I had kept the divs down this year and paid lots into my pension. I made an on account payment in January that covered my whole year. A week later I got a cheque for 769 quid in the post.
                  Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

                    Last time it happened a couple of tax years back after doing SA online I got the payment in a couple of days direct into my bank account.
