Introduction fee

Make sure you get it in a signed contract - be careful about giving info on your client as you can be sure some agencies will use your name in any discussions which may destroy your job. How will you find out if the info you gave was used so you get payment.

Some agencies promise these incentives but when you give the info they say they had it already so won't pay.

Talk to your agents, this will save a lot of misunderstanding.

What the agencies?

Agencies always call me and firstly ask me all the contracts I have been on and the contact name there is, which I always saw I cannot give because of data protection. Obviously fishing for future clients and secondly, if I know of anyone they could approach.

Er, excuse me, wasn't we having a conversation about my job?

They make me laugh..

I would know if the agent got in touch with my previous employer/s by speaking with them, they are business associates after all. If the agency contact them then I can claim the introduction and can show just when the introduction was made e.g. when I sent my CV.

As it could be rightfully put to the agent that the introduction came from me, surely I can claim an introduction fee? (Providing they use the agency at some point)

You may be (morally) correct, but the likeliest outcome is that the agent will tell you to feck off. Still, no harm in asking.

The agent can easily say they were going through a marketting list cold calling everyone and they happenned to just call your contact
