    SAS Contracting (New User)

    Hi there,

Do any SAS Contractors use this bulletin board? If so, I'd be really interested in chatting to you about it because I am considering becoming a SAS Contractor in a couple of months.

I don't want to post war and peace here, but I have loads of questions so if you're a sas contractor, could you reply to this and then maybe I could email you with my questions?

At the moment, I'm totally baffled by all the options for 'setting yourself up' as a contractor and I just don't understand IR35 at all - from what I understand it's just a case of ensuring your contracts are correctly worded in order to avoid IR35 - am I right?

    Thanks very much

Absolutely not!!! It's all about how your contracts are *conducted*.

Effectively if you are treated like an employee at the client site, then you will be deemed within IR35 regardless of what the contract says. However, you can treat the contract like camouflage, since that is what Hector will see first - it may just throw him off the scent (if you're lucky).

Hey, Cowboy Bob, this board any big enough for the both of us. It's shootout time at high noon outside the saloon. Bring a wooden overcoat as you might be cold afterwards.
