If they are raising a PO then you should probably raise a quote for them to raise the PO against.
Thanks a good idea...i take it is a quote is like an invoice but not actually an invoice?
So they want me to work up to 20 hrs per week, although actually i will see it as about 17hrs week initially. so do i quote them for 17 hrs at full rate for 6mths? or do i quote them 17 x Rate-retention bonus?
    thanks

agent has said that for thsi client they specify rate, and retention milestone bonuses within the purchase order. The PO is issued when i accept contract and pass all the required information to them.

Ageny said i dont need to raise a quote for them.

They will also write a letter to offer me the client service which he said will state rate and retention bonus.
      DAK if this is acceptable?

Sounds ridiculous - they will only put the rate and retention in writing in a PO when you accept the contract, by which time they could put anything they want in it.

Ensure that the letter accurately reflects the deal and is from someone that is authorised to make the offer to you.

Thanks for advice. Got a letter in writing stating all about rates, bonus etc.
Agency is a major engineering sector player, but rather get everything correct than have tears later.
