I just wonder whether this rate represents the top end of the IT job market?

I ve taken a look on Jobserbe and there is quite a few roles that will pay up to that for C# Front Office developers.

If I look at something like Market Risk at a bank I see £350 :-)

No. £1k / day is the best I've seen for what I do at present.
