      Fixed term contract with spring

Recently taken a fixed term contract with Spring, where Spring are the employer. Absolutely dreadful. They didn't email me all the contract docs before I started, so when I eventually got the hard copies found there were asymetric notice periods and other bad stuff. I would strongly council anyone against taking an FTC with the agency. There are no safeguards like you'd expect from a proper permanent employer and the money is rubbish. I had to this time, I won't again!

I knew they'd catch someone. They are taking contractor roles and turning them into FTAs to maximise their profits and because some contractors are desperate they are getting away with it.

They tried to tell me that the client preferred it that way which I told him was an absolute crock as the role was advertised as contract by other agencies. The client would be paying the same "contract" rate to the agency regardless of how the agent dressed the role up. mad Only difference being the agent pocketing a greater margin. Nowt but twats!

They tried the same with me - as the job advertised a contract rate and a permy rate with them.......

I had to threaten them to get the advertised contract rate by bubbling them to the person form the clientco who offered me the job!
