For me a nightmare
it was the worst contract I've ever had. I've been on the bench 2 months now and there's no way I would ever consider going back to the team I was in. It was so 'in-Flex' able ;-)
My 'manager' was a very inexperienced public schoolboy t0sser and his manager was an experienced public schoolboy, who also happened to be a t0sser. Both were inept and had a confrontational attitude to management. Conversations between them were the kind that should really have been taken away from the department. Always in your face from day one as well. Each day lasted a week and each week a month. Couple that with a 10% rate cut in the first week for all contractors and it was hell on earth. After a few months I ended up leaving, taking a month in the sunshine and then returning to one of the best contracts I've ever had. It wasn't a decision I made lightly as it was a time when all the banks were on the brink, but I didn't care, I just couldn't stand it a day more. The difference in culture between these two clients was unbelievable.
Having said all this, a mate landed a contract in another team on the same floor (Samson House) and the culture there was completely different. I could see him 30 yards away laughing and smiling while I was quite the opposite. Still, you can't pick them all can you?Comment
