Increase in vacancies?

I've had a lot of calls lately. There's been a definite pick up in agent interest, but many just call about the same roles.

There has been a a significant upturn in my area. One of the IBs are recruiting v heavily.

I'm seeing an upturn as well, especially for this time of year.

The government free data announcements are probably shaking things up a bit in the public sector...they've got to get a move on as well...so few things going with that

Had a look (for the first time since February) the other day when I heard there wasn't going to be an extension here. Things seem OK out there, particularly given the proximity of Christmas

My area is still totally dead. This has been another week where I've not had a single call.

I'm now just a few days from having been benched for a full 12 months.

In that time I've had 2 interviews and one of those was for my last client doing an identical contract to that which I had before, otherwise I would have only had one interview all year and that was for a perm role.

I never thought I would see the market worse that 2001/2 but this has been far worse for me.

Oh well, never mind.

A few of the IBs have started looking now. Next's years budgets are usually out this month.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a distinct increase in :

• Relevant jobs advertised
• "position" phone calls to the mobile
• emails from agents who've found your CV in job sites

Given we're in a "slow" period things may be looking good for all our folks in that looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg bench.

Agree there's an increase but the reason is nothing to do with available jobs. Its just to gain leads by reviewing your latest cv or weedling info out of you.

Yes. Phone has been ringing pretty constantly for the last week or more. Ditto the inbox being pretty full when I get home in the evening. A far cry from the Summer.
