    Assignment question - Customer needs

I am doing a part time management course. I have a management course to do and part of the assignment is to "undertake research to identify your customer needs". Like a lamb to the slaughter, I thought I would use the bulletin board as part of that research.......!

So, if you have a free half hour, give me your thoughts on the following:

    1) In the freelance world, how do you go about defining the Customer needs?

    2) Given the fact that we deal with both agencies and direct Companies as customers, how would you define their needs?

I look forward to all responses. Serious ones would be a great help but the RANDOM funny one might break the tedium of doing the assignment!!

    TIA

If it's not me then I'll do my best to make it me in their minds.

      1) You talk to them and agree on a set of requirements.
      2) Agencies don't have needs, they're a necessary evil. I'd do anything to further myself over the agency and not feel any guilt about it. However, clients are different. Their needs are your job. You should be bending over backwards (within reason and with the necessary remuneration) to do anything that they want.
