Average contract rate for Banking in Zurich ?

Does anyone have any ideas on what a reasonable rate is for a banking role in Zurich ?

I already did searches on the forum but didn't find anything useful.
Also my impression is that rates are sadly continuing to be driven downwards mainly thanks to the agencies undercutting.

I know general cost of living is significantly higher and I will have accomodation and weekly flights on top of that.

Would suggest around 1000CF to ensure that you end up with the equiv of around £650pd given the expense of accommodation, travel etc out there.

Hmmm, the agency for this role are saying client is only offering 800CHF tops which seems really crap to me, but still better than the £60pw JSA I've been getting for last 6 months.....

The only way you can make it up is to pay less tax than you should.

Eh, I don't understand what you mean ? Under the Swiss system you have to go on the payroll of a local agency/payroll company and pay the local canton taxes, so I don't see how there is any flexibility in the tax payment side.

Rates are also down in Switzerland. For an appartment you should consider 1500 chf a month. Tax is low in Zurich area.
From the 800 they will deduct another 200 chf (employer-part).
So you will end up with 600 gross

I have 1000chf in Bern, Zurich pays better. I think they fu.. you

Hi Ruse, we are looking to relocate to Zurich next year. What agencies/job boards do your recommend (for C# banking)? Thanks Lewis

Thanks Marco, yes that's what I thought. Unfortunately as you know right now the situation is that they are getting so many CV's that if I try to negotiate on price they could turn around and say they'll just offer it to the next best person in the queue...
