    Creative? Such as?

Contact all previous clients/contacts? Done that.

Look at a broad range of work locations? Done that.

Look at lowering rate? Done that.

Look at permie? God, even started to think about that!

Still, your "creative" input would be most welcome.

If that's the limit of your "creativity", you would do well to keep it "secret."

Don't worry, I'll keep it "hush, hush", like you requested.

Hi I am a banking software contractor.

I am 3 months on the beach now ( cheaper to idle in Greece than the UK but really had enough sun and sand ) - biggest lapse ever excluding post Y2K.

Phone did not ring between April 6 and June 15.

Since then, many colleagues have ended up at Lloyd's ( low rate through Wipro just after the bad press they received ) and other banks are starting to get spend money.

Closed nothing yet ( finally two interviews ), but much less competition since the Lloyd's hiring and a steady trickle of calls about contracts paying slightly more than a year ago.

2 interviews last week - 2 offers after 4 months on the bench.

I'll reserve judgement on the market for another couple of months though, but am cautiously optimistic that the market is quivering gently.

Let's hope it's not just maggots moving around in the corpse.

My last contract finished at the end of May and I've found Jobserve to be quite busy, just not for the roles I want!

Got some good relationships with agencies, and I've been put forward for a few roles but the end client is just sitting on the CVs and not making a decision on who to reject/interview/etc. Very frustrating!

... and then when you chase it a few weeks later the role has "gone away".

I do wonder how many of these never existed.
