    Looking to return

I'm looking to return to contracting having taken a 16 month break to renovate a house and become a House Husband.

I've recently done some part-time/ad-hoc consultancy work, but now want to get back to full time contracting.

My skills are still current - Oracle 8i/9i certified DBA/Developer and I've spent the last couple of months mugging up on them.

I've just started contacting agencies this week and so far their attitude has been negative

Has any on any one out there experienced returning after a break, and got any advice or tips

    Thanks JohnG

    I think

that you will find that you have actually recently completed a 16 month contract where you project managed a significant implementation of new systems, refreshed older applications, and provided in depth support to your junior staff.

      Re: I think

Have a ring round old clients & Colleagues, be prepared to drop a little money wise at first, it eventually worked for me. If you take on run a few clients on the side and over emphasise the amount of work you did.
