What training/courses should I do?

Hi
I'm a business analyst with 10 years of experience. Am currently looking for work, but thought I would look into some training while I'm waiting. I'm happy with my skills but figure employers like to see certificates on your CV for the penny to drop. Currently, I only have the Prince2 Foundation which I want to convert into the Practitioner. Plus thinking of getting a Six Sigma qualification under my belt (pun intentional)

So what other courses/certificates do you guys have that you think have helped open doors for you? Are there any quick win UML courses? Others?

Note, I'm not an IT focussed BA, hence don't want to do anything hardcore IT; more project management, BA, process, etc

You could always sign up for a Safari subscription and plough your way through any relevant texts.

1. Please could you inform me of the minimum rate you would be prepared to work for? I have many great cv's from top-notch candidates, and I can only forward a limited number of cv's to the client.

2. Please could you give me the name of your former manager.

3. Please note that the job is London based. However, the client is based in Siberia, and occasional travel (i.e. no more than 3 times per week) to their offices may be required (sorry, I missed that bit off the Jobserve advert.)

4. Do you know any other contractors who may be interested.

5. The advertised rate was just an estimate; unfortunately the client does not have that budget, hence the lower rate I can put you forward for.

6. Do you know of any other contractors who may be interested. We pay a referral fee of £5 should a successful placement occur.

None that you have to pay silly amounts for. And by that I mean more than £250!

If you havent got commercial experience for whatever the training is, you've got to be very lucky to find an agent who'll submit you for a role that needs it. Yes, I know some lucky one or two may have got a role through it but when there's tuliploads of people out of work, agents can always find someone who's already qualified AND got the commercial experience.
