Is it only me who's unable to understand if there is any rationale behind advertising the same role, on the same site, sometimes as many as 5-6 times, one below the other?

6 ads, 6 agencies, 3000-6000 applicants for the one job. Long odds indeed!Originally posted by explorer View PostIs it only me who's unable to understand if there is any rationale behind advertising the same role, on the same site, sometimes as many as 5-6 times, one below the other?

Try looking for "Billy Jenkins, MA Associates". Some days, almost 50% of the roles listed on Jobserve for Java people are his roles; all spammed multiple times, day after day after day. He's been at it for weeks now. I've sent at least 15 copies of my cv to jobs of his that perfectly match my skillset and have never had a single reply from him. No idea what the guy is up to - cv gathering? Still, I've got him on my "ignore list" now as Jobserve's most prolific timewaster.Originally posted by explorer View PostIs it only me who's unable to understand if there is any rationale behind advertising the same role, on the same site, sometimes as many as 5-6 times, one below the other?

Up until now "cv gathering" is the only explanation offered behind the move. But the question remains unanswered : why does an agancy have to Repeat ads for that, multiple times, one below the other? If a particular contractor responds to all those ads, they still have only one cv, which they would get even if they had posted the ad only a single time around.Originally posted by nomadd View PostTry looking for "Billy Jenkins, MA Associates". May I make a suggestion?Originally posted by explorer View PostBut the question remains unanswered : why does an agancy have to Repeat ads for that, multiple times, one below the other?
Find a good example, and 'phone the agent and ask them. Then tell us too!
Alternatively, find a good example, post it on here and we'll all phone them - that'll make them wonder! My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

Time wasters
Billy Jenkins is the best example. Me and a friend of mine have had similar experiences with him. Could guys like him be selling our names and contact details to some marketing agencies etc?Comment
