    Accomodation in Wimbledon

Start in Wimbledon on Monday - no, I'm not a ball girl on centre court .
But I would appreciate any insights into finding accommodation, and what areas to avoid etc..

    Cheers
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Lived there for years until 2007. What do you want? Flat or hotel?

I am not a fan of south Wimbledon but other than that most of it is great. I would try and find a place in Wimbledon Village if I could.

The area bounded by The Broadway, Merton Road, Kingston Road & the tram line is the best value in the area. Obviously, the nearer you get to Merton Road the cheaper it gets but you do have the benefit of being closer to the Northern Line.

The village is nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the premium. If you want to be in the town itself, look at apartments in Wimbledon Central which is the big block opposite Sainsbury.

If you mean hotels, there are a couple just in Colliers Wood. The area is ok and close to wimbledon (and cheaper than Wimbledon).

p.s. is that the company that is IBM partner right close to the Wimbledon Station? I can't think of many other companies there

I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

              Nope, they've moved to Paddington.

                Recommended hotels:
                http://www.justinjameshotel.com/ - get in fast
                http://www.cannizarohouse.com/index.php - exceptionally expensive

This used to be a tulip hole, but it may have improved:

If you don't mind a walk / getting on the bus there's a Holiday Inn Express outside Colliers Wood tube.
