Quick question – I know you can help...

I just received a voicemail message from an agent regarding a role in the EU. Basically, I get the impression he’s pretty keen to speak to me as feels I a pretty good fit.

My problem is I have never worked in the EU before and I’m unsure about what I should watch out for. Some one told me years ago flights and accommodation are included (please tell me if that is a pile kak).

I would really appreciate any feedback in regards to tactics and things I should keep in mind when I speak to him.

    Cheers

Find out what the expenses basis is.

In some industries (eg banking) it's normal for the bank to pay for weekly flights and 5* hotels. In other industries, you might have to pay your own way.

Also, find out the invoicing structure - is it a UK agency? It makes things a lot simpler if it is.

It's not banking it's telecoms (does that make any difference? If so how specifically?).

I suspect the agency is based in the UK (will check to confirm)

Yeah, whatever you do, get the flights and accomodation covered one way or another - if not paid for directly by the client then compensated for in the rate. Those two items guzzle up the cash, especially if you fly back regularly (which I have to).

It doesn't make any difference, other than client expectation.

I've no idea about telecoms, just make sure flights and accom are covered somehow as Dang says.
