My @#%$ has been taken over - how can I take advantage

My client was just recently taken over - by its rival - how disgusting...
anyway, my manager has had to move on - as the new owner has no space for him. So I'm basically running the show now...its a very tiny IT department. Essentially they have outsourced their IT department...to me.
Now's my chance to expand my business - hire on a couple of guys as DBA, PA and Linux and Windows Admin. Any tips how I can leverage my knowledge to do this...
:evil The irony is that I want out of this contract :\

'Course if they offer me a permie job at £40K+ ... hmmm..

    Is £40k good?

Whats that a month after paying your 40% tax?

Its only 40% on the portion over 40K. ie: 0
The job won't be in Ldn BTW...if it was I'd demand £1000K...
we don't all live in the center of the world you know.

This is what I would do: contact an agency that you know (but not the one you are contracting through! Cos' they know where you are), and tell them that you can get them 2 contracts or whatever (say 1 DBA, 1 Linux), but they have to split their cut with you.

You don't want the hassle of employing people, do you? Let egancies do what they're meant to do: screen people, and then pay them every week/month. The finders fee is what you're after.

If you have a LTD, then you can enter into a contract with an agency that would split a 15% cut into, say 5% for you and 10% for them. Then tell your new boss at your client's that you can find them contractors for the roles to be filled.

Do not tell the agency where you work before you have signed though - or they will contact your boss direct.
