They have a <snip> although it's nowhere near as active as this place.

prehaps you should have posted this as a new thread - I can see lots of people here writing agency reviews.
zara_backdog suggested maybe I should have posted this as a new thread... either way, you might find it useful. Maybe they'll get sued out of existence soon, but any method of highlighting the good agents and pointing out the bad must be good!

It's quite a bit different to ContractorUK (more a general site) so not exactly a competitor site IMO so I hope the admin don't mind me linking to it

I had some input into this project. The website (not a competitor of CUK!) is due to officially launch next week. Would really appreciate some candid feedback.

Really like the site - well done on that!

Only criticism from a front page review is that as you go down the page there just seems to be alot of banners and information just thrown about?..just boxes here and there

aside from that - I hope it does well for you.

And how easy would it be for an agency to contrive to get themselves at the top of the list? I see Huxley have someone at the top. Is it based on requests for references?
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

          Bedouin?

I see Bedouin are on your site as a umbrella etc and advertising too, they are a IOM based scheme I believe?

Are they not under investigation by HMRC?

that is going to be key - the basis of ratings. I would assume once they have a number of users - they can put in some sort of rating mechanism [and one that isnt open to manipulation]. I think honest contractor review and feedback would be an idea and would need to be modded obviously. But if a agent is on the site- they shouldnt have an issue in being rated and vice versa. Maybe have a "Notes" section as well as a 1 to 5 rating whereby you can edit either as an Admin if the comments are just silly.

There was a site a few years back that tried to rate the agencies and allowed people to post their comments. The big ones got it closed down due to the number of negative comments they were getting. It's a shame really as it was an eye opener and somewhere useful for those new to contracting to see some of the horror stories which contractors had when dealing with agencies.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

              I preferred version 1!

Host the server and contents in another country and just make sure it is modded well.

It would be far too costly to sue someone on the outset on comments which can be substantiated and proven. But again, it goes back to Modding of the site.

The sooner alot of these agencies are taken out the business the better Id say! And leave the ones that actually do a good job to reap the benefits

Cheers for the feedback Liability. I hear what you're saying about the volume of banners. We're still in BETA at the mo so i'll get the developers to have a think about this a bit more.

Yep, this was a BIG concern for us To avoid any future litigation, the descriptive feedback is stored offline and not therefore available in the public domain. The agencies are rated based on a 5 point competency system, the scores of which are available by clicking on the agency profile:-

Score by Ability to Find Appropriate Contracts:
