      Was looking for Travel insurance earlier but getting confused on some of the policy details... an example

      Cash & Documents - You are covered up to £500 for accidental loss or theft of your own cash and/or documents. Cash is only covered whilst being carried on your person or left in a locked safety deposit box. Cash is limited to £100, unless you are under 16 years of age, in which case the maximum payable is £50 (£40 excess).
      Please see terms and conditions.
      Cover - £500.00
      Excess - £100.00
      I'm wondering what would be the point of claiming for a cash loss of £100 if i have to pay an excess of... £100
