Companies House - annual form submission

I've been incorporated for almost a year.
I understand that I need to submit annual returns to HMRC (which my accountant will arrange).
Do I also need to submit a form, or forms to Companies House each year? Does an accountant typically take care of this at the same time as submitting the annual returns, or is this not in the "normal" remit of an accountant?

It depends on your arrangement with the Accountant and how much you pay them. Some will do it as part of their annual service fee, some won't. You need to ask your Accountant the questions, not us. My Accountant will do the returns for me, and all I have to do is sign them agreeing that the information is correct and accurate.

The companies house return is probably the easiest thing to do in the whole "running a company" business.

      1) Register with companies house for online form submission

      2) Wait a week until the password arrives

      3) Put the kettle on

      4) Log on, confirm that the registered address, directors names, share allocation haven't changed

      5) Pour boiling water over potnoodle of your choice.

      6) Push them £15 (its £30 if you fill in a paper form)

      7) Stir, add more water if necessary and consume.

Got mine through today - normally get the accountant to do it but may do it myself as I have nothing better to do ( apart from looking for a gig)

Yep it's quite an easy task, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My accountant used to send me the form and ask me to sign it and return it to him with a cheque payable to Companies House. The registered office was at the accountants' so I suspect that the reminders went there.

If you up your company on this site (between 7am and midnight ) you can see the status of the documents that have to be returned.
