The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the definition, scheduling, tracking, co-ordination, execution and deployment of software development projects. * Be the catalyst for ensuring successful project delivery.
* Create detailed schedules and drive software development projects forward through and around roadblocks, including tracking progress and issues
* Work with other managers across functional areas such as marketing, product management, quality assurance and operations to ensure timely and high quality project completion
* Assist Product and Engineering Management to balance tasks across resources to optimize efficiency.
* Track third party deliverables and ensure that external dependencies are factored into project plans
* Effectively communicate across functional areas and to executive management on project progress, issues and risks.
* Identify key issues/roadblocks for project and aggressively find solutions that allow the team to stay on track
* Build cross-functional projects plans and ensure timely and effective communication across functional area
* Pragmatically apply formal project management techniques, skills and methodologies.
* Maintain project issues and risk logs and facilitate the resolution of issues and the mitigation of project risks.
Skills
* 5+ years in project management in a similar environment.
* Certification or extensive experience of formal project management methodologies such as Prince2 or PMBok.
* Demonstrable ability to pragmatically apply project management methods.
* The ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects.
* Proven experience successfully managing complex projects from inception to delivery
* Exposure to scrum and agile methodologies
