      Thom,

You should still complain to the DTI who will at the very least write to the "offender" and seek clarification of whats going on. You never know, if they receive enough complaints they may actually do something about the buggers.

        Thanks Mailmannz,

I did actually submit a complaint to the DTI but haven't had a response yet :\

I'm gonna write to both agencies but, tbh, don't hold out much hope.

Alas, it seems that this is one of the downsides of contracting. Still, doubtless I'll learn these tactics and how to deal with them. Shame there doesn't seem to be proper legislation in place (and enforced).

I complained to the DTI last year and got a response from them about 6 weeks after I made the complaint...but all credit to them as they followed that up with a request for more info from the dodgy bastards who ripped me off.

Im yet to follow up with more info and a request for them to prosecute though

Ah ok. Well my complaint was only 2 weeks ago, so I'll give it a little longer.

Shame that it had to come to this. I did try to be concillatory about it, but it seems there are good and bad agencies out there. Fortunately, I've experienced more good than bad.
