If you don't know the answer and how to handle 'your agent' you should return to permiedom asap.

This one works good "I got out of jail after serving 4 years for attempted murder. Now how about that rate rise".

My agent has been trying to do this with me since I joined about 4 months ago, client told me it was nothing to do with them and I have had an extension already. Agent insists that it is the client.

Best talk to the client like I did and see what the truth is, I just said "if you, the client, want it fine but I suspect the agent is fishing"

      They confirmed they were fishing.

          ...
Do I dish up the reference? I have no problem with references but I do not want people who have provided this for me in the past to be inundated with sales calls from agency.

          Thoughts? (Agency is Allegis)
'doing an audit' = trawling through all possible sources for leads to call.

... inundated with sales calls from agency: yes, that is the sole point of this exercise.

Ask them to contact your current client for a reference!

And what are they going to do if you dont supply it? Cancel your contract and seriously annoy their client?

I've had my agency pestering for stuff like this numerous times in the past and i simply dont reply to them and they always give up.

Give them the old "J. R. Hartley" reference. Or "Mr Robert Showaddiwaddi".

Only served four years for attempted murder? What was the murder weapon a paperclip?
