complete turnaround, I managed to get a lead off an Agency.... 
They rang me about a possible gig, turns out they hadn't read my cv and that I wasn't suitable for said gig after all.
We chatted about my CV (as ya do) and they mentioned a certain manager at my old gig is possibly looking for contractors and gave me the name!
Thank you very much Mr Pimp! I will be contacting some of my colleagues to infiltrate said contract.
