    Applying online

    Hi,
When looking on the likes of jobserve and then applying for a position online - do you tend to add covering letters as well as a CV? Since they just go to the agent I wonder how much they get read and if its worth bothering with the letter, would they forward the letter to the employer?

No they dont , and in all likely hood noone will read them

The agent will look at your cv quickly, checked for buzzwords and then call you and ask what you have done....at which point you will be thinking "hasn't this turd read my CV?"

Best just to call the agent to quiz them about the contract - the best you can hope for with one of those Jobserve application forms is an automated email notifying you that your CV has been registered on their database.

WHS + a lifetime of spam from Jobserve........

I never either "apply online" via Jobserve or even reply/respond to the Jobserve Email address......
          1) I doubt if it ever reaches the pimp.....
          2) It also "registers" me for more spam.....

I normally just email my CV directly to the email address supplied in the advert, with a perhaps a line or two on why I'm so good for the job (which is normally copied from another email). Last time I was looking this worked fine and I got calls from most, if not all, of the applications.
