    Agencies for Testers

first time post, long time lurker

This is a question on behalf of a friend who is considering getting into contracting, does anyone know of decent agencies who deal primarily with test engineers?

I'm at a loose end to provide such info as I mainly do pm/ba stuff and most of my agencies only deal with that side of things.

    Suggestions on a post(card) please.

    ta!

I'd really like to hear of some good agencies as well. Just had a meeting today and was told my "position is at risk of being made redundant".

I've done a search on here and got a load of general agencies, but testing agencies would be much appreciated.

It would also be good to know of any QA discussion boards that would be good as well.

Here are a couple I have dealt with in the past:

      http://www.leysen.com/

      Not much around at present.

          Thanks for that!

I've told me other half he's to stay put in his permie job until the right contract comes along (in 2020!!!)

Some agencies are better than others. TBH I've found Lorien and PSP especially to be very good. To a lesser extent, Spring and and Modis.

None of these market themselves specifically as testing agencies. Its whoever have the jobs available at the time.

Leysen primarily have jobs in the south and seem mainly permie based when I've looked at them. Centre4testing, I've never heard of.

problem is, an awful lot of the agencies do not get what my other half does, simply as what he does falls between development and testing (he works at r&d in citrix).

So more often than not they find it difficult to place him. Most of the permie jobs don't pay enough for 20 years of experience. and the current job has no prospects and its a pants place to work.

So he's now trying the contract market, but its trying to find an agency with the right type of job...

but seeing as the job market is quiet on the testing front, he'll stay put.
