I have found Jobserve to be a bit poo at getting me decent gigs. Invariably, it's been the one man in his shed pimps that have found the tastier stuff for me.

Haha! I'm glad I'm not the only one that has noticed him. You'd have thought after so much fishing they would actually have some genuine roles to fill, though I have never seen them. I automatically just ignore these roles, despite how tempting they look.Originally posted by swamp View PostHas Billy Jenkins from MA Associates stopped posting rubbish then?
Similar applies to anyone from E-Synergy or Huxley. Or maybe it's just everyone on Jobserver right now

Seems to be a lot of dead roles that have already been filled on jobserve atm. These are roles I've been put forward for in the past and I notice the agencies are reposting them as new to make it look like the market hasn't died on its ar$e.

I'm seriously considering a perm consultancy type role due to clientco looking like they might close and nothing else (decent) around in the North East for about 18months now :-/Originally posted by Gros View PostOr maybe it's just everyone on Jobserver right now

I've found this, last gig I had was through a small firm and then found my current role through a contact within that company. It's the old "not what you know, it's who you know" situation. Although it helps if you know your subject, obviouslyOriginally posted by Bob Dalek View PostI have found Jobserve to be a bit poo at getting me decent gigs. I'd second that. My last contract ended, I pinged a mate saying I was coming to the end of contract. He says he's looking for a contractor - start next Monday.Originally posted by Pete Cullen View PostI've found this, last gig I had was through a small firm and then found my current role through a contact within that company. I've noticed on some roles advertised - not ones that I would apply for necessarily - that agents are now leaving their telephone numbers blank (00000-000000)
