    Remote working accountants

Yet another soon to be ex-pat here.

I've been planning to head off to Australia for a while now and the time is fast approaching. I grabbed a short contract in June when the market didn't seem so good, expecting to finish it off and go.

Now they want me to extend but I said I was all set to head off so they've agreed to keep me on a remote contract while I jet off to Hawaii before carrying on to Melbourne . This means I'll be working in the evening to early morning with a remote desktop and Skype connection to my co-workers. All brilliant if that's enough to stop me being lazy as they say I can do whatever hours I like within reason.

Now because I was expecting it to be temporary I was working under an umbrella cuz I'm, well, a bit lazy. Now they want work directly with me and because I'll be outside IR35 it makes sense to go LTD.

So is there a good accountant I can use that will quickly set things up and give me the same convenient online timesheet entry and do my invoicing for me?

There was threads from others heading down under so I'll go and dig them up as I'll be getting work down under at some point so need to figure out how that would work.

Anybody else got to experience this supposed nirvana? Does it turn out to be as good as it sounds? Apart from the currency risk with the tuliping dollar getting a massive boost thanks to Russia what are the downsides?

If you emigrate properly to Aus won't you be subject to the Aus tax regime rather than the UK as you will be resident there? I'm not sure how much use a UK Ltd would be in those circumstances.

As such you will need advice from at least an Aussie accounting firm I would think.

Congrats on getting what sounds to be a very amicable gig with fairly extreme remote working
