    Possibly, probably even.

However, In some European & African countries PMO can actually be a very senior n-1 position. A different concept to a UK PMO role. A project manager that sits in board meetings with the ears of the CEO more or less.

Often the case in FR. Not sure about CH, perhaps NAT knows the answer.

In any case the entire jobspec looks as boring as hell & a cut & paste montage.

Asking you about your job hopes and dreams showed they care, though.

Well I lost out on an interview because I didn't give references... I think this advice may be too harsh?

Yep. Their service includes the provision of references (supposedly), so because I didn't want to do that they filled up the remaining interview slots with those who had 2 refs.

Perhaps it is worth the price of a bit of unsolicited mail for my old friends?

You are on page 98 of a thread that has been running for 8 years discussing this topic. Start on page 1 and come back with your conclusion.

No, screw that. I wouldn't play that game even if the jobs on offer paid gold bullion. I used to get regular spam calls from agencies when I was perm and I'd listen to their spiel and say I was in a perm job and not looking to leave. Every time they asked if I knew of anyone else interested and the only answer I'd ever give is "no." I sure as hell wouldn't want more nonsense calls, so why inflict them on others?

No doubt. Years ago a colleague and I were talking to the same recruiter - so much pie in the sky it was raining blueberries: walk on, min 12 months, rate so good you'd be nuts not to quit your perm job. Couple of calls and then nothing. Guy called me six months later and I was like "aren't you that asshole who strung me and my colleague along?" Response was basically, yeah, what's he doing now, I have a great opportunity!

                      My 2 references....

are always Neil Down and Ben Dover from my previous company, Far QSO.
