Applied for a (bogus) contract. They rang me up, and didn't once mention the contract I'd applied for. Asked me what I was after and my current rate. Then they started asking about a previous client and whether Roger Peters was still IT director there (Guess what he never was). I told the p1mp that Roger Ramjet was the new director to which he put the phone down on me.

Cheeky bugger sent me a template email afterwards saying how nice it was to speak to me and asked me to send my references as previously agreed. We didnt get as far as references in our conversation! I sent a picture of a fisherman back.

Not got a reply back. Shame.

Oh by the way the email was from Huxley also, so looks like they do have have some newbie with unrestricted access to their database!

Funny... I have had these guys actually cut and paste my last job description from my CV word for word, and post it on the job boards as one of their job specs

I had put quite a bit of work into it, so I was glad someone appreciated it!

Then sometimes I get concerned, that these guys can be inbetween us and the next potential contract.

I had a strange one the other day, pimp phoned me to ask if I knew of any architects who had done e-commerce stuff before, I didn't and so fair enough.

He then started asking me what sort of companies and systems that people would normally engage in a e-commerce project. Would they look for a company to do the whole shebang etc.. Strange questions for a pimp I thought.

Take care with your language. If 'pimps' are calling what does that make you???

Many thanks for your offer to look for work on my behalf. I would be keen for you to tell me which companies (and respective contact names and numbers) you plan to consider me for so that I can avoid applying for roles for these companies through agencies other than yourselves.

I would also be keen to know how many candidates you have put forward for roles with these companies and how many real success / failure rates you have achieved so that I can make the best judgement on whether to use your services or not.

As previously explained you have been considered for the role in life and pensions that you have recently applied for therefore, a swift response in order to obtain a reference for you would be greatly appreciated.
