I worked in South Florida on a number of occasions and thought it was amazing. Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton was where I was based. The offices are big and there's so much space out there. Property is getting cheaper and the weather is awesome. The beach is like 10 minutes drive away and you can buy a convertible and use it most of the year!
And another good thing about Florida is that it is a relatively new state, and hence there are a lot of American and foreign immigrants (the good type), so everyone is open to meeting new people.
I would definately go back there.Comment

I would emigrate and take it. Not worth coming back to this country after living out there for any period of time, you will just realise how expensive and rubbish the UK is.Comment

Emigrate
I would emigrate - I lived in Dallas for 5 years and loved it. If you dont like Manhatten you could always live on Long Island or somewhere close by.
Life in the US is something you either love or hate. If you love it though, be warned, you wont want to come back.Comment

And plus the gentlemen's clubs are amazing.
I really hope I get the opportunity to go back there.Comment

I did a stint in California in Silicon Valley during the boom times. A great place to live.
If you can get out of the UK and emigrate, now is the time to do it. Your 2 bed semi here will translate to a 5 bed MacMansion out there.
And no Gordon Brown or New Labour.

I worked in North Carolina for a while and loved it - then did 4 months in Newport Beach in California and hated it.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
