    Time management system

    My client requires that I complete a time management entry for each week that I work. I.e. how many hours I have worked per day charged to the project code that I am contracted to work for. They also request that I complete the number of hours that I do not work during the standard working week booked as Contractor Unpaid Leave.

    They are now asking me to use another system that is being used to forecast demand for resource. There are references to 'staff' on this system and I am concerned that having to complete these systems could affect my IR35 status.

    My contact and working practices are outside of IR35, I work from home, choose the hours and when I work and decide how the work is to be completed. I do not want anything to jeopardise my position.

    Billing for hours of work done is not indicative of IR35 or any kind of direction & control: accountants and lawyers do it all the time.

    But the implication that the client has a "standard working week" in mind for you stinks.

      The bit I've emboldened looks iffy to me, but I'm not sure why. I don't think it would be D&C and it doesn't seem like MOO.....

      I would run the scenario past an IR35 review (Qdos, B&C etc) and see what they think about it.

        I was particularly concerned about that part of it. I don't mind so much documenting the hours I have worked, after all I put 7.5 hours on my timesheet for the agency but having to enter a 7.5 hour day for any time that I am not on site concerns me. The problem is if I don't do this they refuse to sign my timesheets!
