    Contract Renewal

As Im new to the game just need a heads up on renewal . If the company offer me another one year contract is it possible to ditch my recruitment agency, do I have any ties with them once the first contract is up?

Basically I dont want to pay them any more !!!

    Merci

The agent relationship lasts as long as the client relationship lasts.
You could suggest that they reduce their cut as they have done nothing for the extension. Always be prepared to walk away if you are going to start playing games.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

You don't pay them, the client does!
Are you confusing them with BTL agents?
You are utterly clueless, aren't you?

Check your contract small print - there may be something in there preventing you going direct with client for 6 months or so.

            contract renewal

there's a good chance that the agent is earning less margin upon contract renewal, because the client has screwed them down in their agreement.

I appreciate you're new to this business, but as has been said b4, as long as yr happy with yr rate, why do anything to upset things?

The agency will earn their cut because it's likely that within yr contract & client/agency contract are terms to ensure their revenue is protected, after all they've got to make money as well.

If you get a contract renewal offer, accept it unless your skills are very rare and in demand!

I've been out for 5 months now...had a couple of false dawns and had an agency last week fail to agree/process the T & c's quickly enough costing me a contract worth ££££..

            bye

Yes, you can ditch the agency. Just find a direct contract with another client. As said b4, you ain't paying them. Client is, and if you think the rate is too low tell the agent what you want. He will approach the client first, before giving up any of his commision.

He'll probably come back to you saying no way client will pay more. Then you have a choice - threaten to walk and mean it, or buckle up and shut up.
