    Opt in/out and contract terms

I have secured my first contract which is due to start next week and am awaiting the relevant paperwork from the agent.

At no point has opting in or out been discussed by the agent or myself.

However, from searching on the board, I understand that this is now irrelevant as I have met the client at interview which automatically means I am opted-in.

With that said, should I now only concern myself with carefully reviewing the contract when received? Any pointers for main points to look out for which agencies regularly include for their benefit.

From previous posts, I suspect the agent is going to insist I opt-out and I may have to sign something to this effect but this will not be worth much due to the fact I have already met the client.

Correct - once you have been introduced to the client, opting out will only impact any new contracts that you have with the agency.

Get the contract, and get it reviewed by Qdos or Bauer and Cotterell and see what they say in terms of it being inside or outside IR35.

Make sure that your working practices reflect the contract too.
