    Remote Consulting

As I mentioned on a previous thread, I am currently working on a project for a client and I am currently being 'under-utilised'. I am effectively working a couple of hours a day.

Given the fact I have much free time, I feel that I could take on additional work which I could do in conjunction to my current gig.

Question: most roles advertised on Jobserve and it's ilk are 'presentee' roles which require you to be onsite for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Are there any sites which specialise in remote working roles where the whole physical presence thing isn't such an issue?

My backround is Investment Banking BA/PM/Test Management.

    Thanks for your help....

Sadly, if you can work 5 or 50 miles away remotely, you can work 5000 miles away in Bangalore.

Fair point. I thought that would only hold true for programming side of things?

In my experience the only way to get offsite work is to go direct to clients. It's bizarre the way that agency contracts are nearly always onsite, and direct work is mostly offsite - no idea why.

Best way to get direct client work is to do some networking, make some cold calls, make a website etc ... all the old fashioned marketing gubbins.

Think it is difficult unless you can get some working from home in....
