    Contract Start Date

My contract's schedule lists a start date of tomorrow. Apparently prior to working at the client's site some checks had to be made, these were supposed to take one week, I was told at my last meeting if these were to come in earlier I would be contacted and the possibility of moving my start date forward would be discussed.

Today I have attempted to contact the company I am dealing with on numerous occasions to try to ascertain whether the checks went through okay and for some confirmation of the start date but I have had no luck getting through and no response to my messages.

The question really is, should I turn up at the client's site regardless?

Have they asked you not to turn up? If no I would assume all has gone through as expected.

If you have a signed contract with a start date I would turn up. Worst that can happen is they ask you to go home again because they haven't done all thier checks and they will grovel a bit if that's the case.
