More info from Redding Finance Capital Ltd.

Sorry if someone has already posted this earlier. This is the latest info I have from a mate:
      ==================================
Who is Redding Finance Capital Ltd?

Redding Finance Capital Ltd is an offshore company, just like Talent Resource Management who provided the original loan.

Why have the loans being transferred to Redding Finance Capital Ltd and what will happen to them?

There will be no change to the current set-up and arrangements The loans are not being recalled nor is this a demand for payment The exercise is a straightforward transfer of ownership of operation between the two offshore firms to protect the strength and longevity of the agreement and to allow the loans to remain exactly as they are.

Has there been a change to the tax system?

No, there have been no changes to the tax system. This means that the loans are still bona fide arrangements.

      What are my liabilities?

Your liability is unchanged from the previous arrangement with Talent Resource Management The original loan is a fully compliant arrangement that satisfies all the legal requirements to be classed as a conforming loan agreement. This is still the case and therefore no changes are required to the original terms and conditions.

What will happen to Talent Resource Management?

Talent Resource Management is still a fully solvent company based in Guernsey.

How will this change affect me?

Quite simply the only change is a different name and company as provider of the loans The execution of the agreement remains unchanged

If you leave matters as they are your situation will remain unchanged since the date you

      entered into the agreement.

Should I consider closing the loans?

We strongly recommend that you seek professional advice before doing so to establish what, if any liabilities you may incur. If you decide to close your loan with Redding Finance Capital Ltd you may do so. Write to us stating that this is your intention. We cannot accept verbal instruction.

      cheers

This is in response to message #221 posted by cfos. You may have received that question and answer exchange from a mate but most certainly your mate received it from Redding Finance. It is the exact same boilerplate wording that I am several others have received as emails from Redding. The questions are from Redding and the replies are from Redding. You can trust it as far as you can trust Redding.

          TRM loan

So is it just a matter of contacting Redding Finance and asking them to close the loan off? If so, does anyone know if we can just close it or would we incur charges to do so (i.e tax)?

I got this standard response to my query too... What I don't see is how they remain 'exactly as they are' and yet the letter from Redding stated - "Please note that the Original Loan has been assigned to us and varied".

If the moderators could please allow me to PM JonC - as I'd like to be in the loop.

            Thanks.

Reference your posting #49 on 11 August 2008. Did anyone from TRM call you to discuss the Redding situation? I'll bet not. What is your current course of action vis-a-vis the loan acquisition document you received from Redding?

Another name you can throw into the mix is Hadden Business Solutions. I emailed them about doing my tax return for 2007 / 2008. Never got a reply from Hadden Business Solutions but out of the blue I got a boilerplate email from Redding Finance answering a lot of questions that I never asked. Impact Marketing also seems to be tied in with TRM, Futurelink, Hadden Business, Redding Finance, Batchworth Management and maybe one of two other company names.

I may also have some additional information tomorrow from someone at TRM who is going to call me to discuss the Redding situation. This is assuming that they do actually call of course.

A concern of mine about Redding / TRM is the quality of their correspondence - it gives the impression they are a cowboy outfit who at best have not covered all the bases. They should be giving precise answers and information not evasive and contradictory information to questions they themselves have composed. Simple question for them, What if I don't sign the new terms & conditions by Redding?

Reading all the posts this has the foundations for a 3 way fight of chess - us, TRM and the taxman.

I've still not been added to the "JonC" email group so not sure if doors have now been shut? Does anyone know the progress, if any, of this group?

                  Any views would be welcome.
OK, since you ask. I'm not here to gloat, I could give a toss about how you bail yourself out of this mess without going bankrupt. I'm only trying to make sure people who clearly have made a serious f***-up in how they manage their earnings actually understand what they are up against. In this case it's thinking that taking out a virtual loan is a magic bullet to not paying any tax: interesting concept but pretty much untenable, as you are now discovering.

It's a simple enough concept: if you earn money in the UK and live in the UK, you pay tax in the UK at roughly the same level as everyone else. Frankly I'm getting seriously pissed off with know-nothing people claiming me to be the big bad wolf, about as much as I am about the damage you are doing to the struggle to get freelance contractors taken seriously. If you can't hack advice or can't understand what I'm saying then fine, but leave me out of it.
                  Blog? What blog...?

Firstly my apologies. I'm totally overloaded with emails. I will add you all in time, but please bear with me as these things take time.

Also in light of recent announcements from TRM / Redding I would like to consider this and obtain further information before taking any further action.

                    Thanks

JonC I have contacted the moderators 3 times to get elevated rights but no joy. I have been following and contributing to this thread since the start and would very much like to join your email group but maybe there is some other way I can contact you without exposing myself. Maybe I'll have to set up a temp email address to post on here and then change it once we have made contact.

                    Moderators...PLEASEEEEE can I have elevated rights ?

                    <mod note>Seeing as you asked so nicely </mod note>

This message is for JonC in response to the below copy of his posting #98 on 13 August 2008. You ask people to contact you by email and not use the PM communications system because you don't use PM. How does one get your email address? Can the moderator or administrator give it to me if I ask?

I see a lot of postings addressed to you about joining your group but I haven't seen anythig coming back from you since 19 August 2008. Are you still putting together a group in case there is a need to mount a legal battle or have you abandoned the effort? I would certainly like to join your group and perhaps suggest the name of a law office that might handle the action but I don't know how to get in touch with you directly, i.e. I need your email address or else a phone number. If you've abandoned the idea then you might post that to the forum as there are a lot of people waiting to hear what you are doing and what you've come up with.

Administrator or Moderator Are you in a position to give me the email address for JonC?

                      Thank you.

Would anyone wishing to join our mailing list and information sharing service please contact me by email directly please and not use the PM method. Many folk don't add their email address and I simply don't have time to reply to all the messages.

If the email method isn't working because you are new to the forum then please email the administrator (username=administrator) or any of the moderators. They've been very good about this and have allowed new members to email when not having many posts to boost their credibility.

Thanks for your understanding. We still want more folk to join us and to try and unravel this situation. So if you have received one of these letters and are worried we'd like to have you on board.

                      Cheers

                      Jon
