Text was on Friday, so I guess I should see the funds in my account tomorrow. I will post an update because as you say it could be interesting as I haven't signed my letter yet.

I've just registered with this Contractor UK website and so it is all new to me and I am having a problem figuring out how to send messages etc and since I am not very technically astute, I may get discouraged and give up if it gets to be too difficult. Basically, I've received a loan reassignment letter from Redding Finance Capital and am naturally reluctant to sign it. Having seen your posts on the forum on this subject I would like to be able to talk to you about what progress you are making and how I can help you out. Since I'm not sure about using this website to keep in touch with you, I'd appreciate it if you could give me a call at home at any time on xxxx xxx xxx so we can talk a little bit about the Redding problem and about how to use this site to communicate.

      Thanks a million

You might want to edit your post to remove your phone number. Once it is on here it will be picked up by any number of less than reputable organisations that deliberately trawl message boards like these for email addresses and phone numbers. Putting your phone number in the public domain like this is a very bad idea.

If you need to contact someone here and dont have the ability to PM yet, it is restricted to accounts with a certain number of posts, then a polite note in the thread asking to be allowed to PM will get the moderators to enable it for you without having to make lots more posts.

Unless you enjoy drivilling for the hell of it in which case a warm welcome awaits you over in TPD. You can trust them they are professionals

PS Mods, if Foxy doesn't see this do them a favour and redact the phone number in the post before their phone line melts under the spam.

        Talent Resource Management

        JonC:
I too have had a letter from Redding and I left TRM in 2005. I have also had an email from them, attempting to clarify the situation. Essentially they are saying that nothing has changed and that ownership of the loans is simply being transferred from TRM to Redding.
The loans are not being recalled and there is no demand for repayment.
I'd like to join your mailing list and share info.

Can the moderator set me up to email Jon, please - thanks.

DaveB: Thanks a million for the heads-up. I've gone ahead and deleted the phone number that was in my post to JonC. Someone else called me with the same warning as you gave and he walked me through the deletion process and so I hope it worked. If not, then please let me know as I am still very new to this site and still very shaky.

Thanks again for the good advice.

            Redding Comms

I have tried squeezing some information out from TRM in regards to the letter and 'new' arrangements etc. But as with most of you had no luck, just a bland response saying they have no idea what’s going on and that I should speak with Redding directly.

I sent an email last week to Redding requesting some answers to latest shenanigans and got the generic response – “Thank you for your enquiry. Please be assured you will receive a reply in the coming days. To alleviate further disruption we would kindly ask that you do not reply to this e-mail but await our response to you personally.”

Has anyone had any meaningful responses from Redding explaining the situation?

An additional concern is that if you request to leave, TRM only take you of their employment register and post you a P45 the loan still has to be dealt with by Redding.

              Talent Resource Management

I'm a foreigner working in the UK and so I am not familiar with the UK income tax forms. What do you mean when you say, "Did you declare the scheme on your tax returns?". Do you mean that I should report on the tax return that I am a member of a payroll loan scheme or do you mean that I should report the amount of money that "loaned" to me during the tax year by Talent Resource Management?

Where on the tax form do you declare the scheme, i.e. what's the page number and the paragraph number that you would use to declare the scheme if you were a part of it and wanted to report it to HMRC?

              Thanks for the help.

Did you declare the scheme on your tax returns?

If not, then it seems to me that one route of attack by HMRC would be to seek to show that the loans are not real loans, that you knew they weren't, and that would seem to indicate evasion.

I have just received an email from redding saying that all is as before etc etc but if I want to close the loan I should seek professional advice re potential liabilities that I may incur. I ahve written to them asking what happens when the repayment date is reached? My current contract ends september 4th and I am probably retiring then so really worried about this loan!!
Having only just joined this forum have not worked out how to send a pm so can someone give me an email address so that I can join the group and be involved in obtaining professional advice?
                  Thanks
                  John

I have received the funds this morning and my statement says they came from Talent Resource Management not Redding but that probably has no significant meaning.

There is an "Additional Information" sheet that you must complete (you can download from hmrc, it's called sa101.pdf). On page 4 it has a section called "Tax avoidance schemes" (questions 15 and 16). You need to enter the unique reference that relates to your scheme (they should have provided this to you as it is required by law) and the dates that you used it.
