I was contacted by an agency for a contract and sent my CV in. I then discovered that they had used my skills list to create a job ad on an online job board......not sure why and what should I do?

Not thinking for one minute an agent would post made-up jobs to build the database..... Ahem! -

That's happened to me before with one of the S3 group - they copied a section of my CV bullet points et al word from word.
I phoned up the agency and demanded to speak to the manager. I then told him to remove it and it was.
I have no idea why the agent did that because the software I was using was a niche product and the only people who would be available for any roles in the UK where already known to all agents in that market."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Problem:
New agency has no jobs and no CV's.
No one will apply unless they have jobs and no client will use the agency unless they have CV's.
Answer:
Create bogus jobs. Attract CV's. Create more bogus jobs. etc.
Result:
Agency now has CV's, can get client to advertise jobs. Voila, business built from nothing.

- for every CV that comes in, phone up and ask for references.
- for every reference received, phone up and tout for jobs.
(There's a couple of other really, really, tulipty things some of them do but I'm not going to document them here. Some of you will have been on the receiving end of them, I am sure.)Drivelling in TPD is not a mental health issue. We're just community blogging, that's all.
