Just asked for rate rise

Just pitched in a rate rise request 19%, on the back of an expected 6 month contract extension. Will be interesting to see what comes back.
I have chipped in lots of justification - increased responsibility, staff, leading projects etc.
Team I am allied to are all senior or coining it so hoping the number still looks small + halfway through major transformation - do they want to switch it to someone else to do ?
It's all about leverage ! I am away from home and would not be the end of the world if they say get lost so decided the rise would be sufficient compensation for the inconvenience.
Reckon it is 70:30 in my favour whether it goes through, but not a cert by any means.
I was about to pitch for a much smaller increase until Billy business b***s**t was put into my reporting line.
You know the type, talks a brilliant game, little actual production though.

The real inflation figure is at least 7% pa. if the truth were ever told by New Labour (and maybe even double digits), so unless you are getting rate increases every year, in real terms you are getting a pay cut.

19% starts to look pretty low.
