My Ltd has a contract with my agent/client. I am hiring a subcontractor (another Ltd, they are outside the UK ) to perform part of the work.

I don’t have a contract yet with the subcontractor nor I have introduced him to the client/agent.

I am almost in the position of an agent here.

How do I protect myself from the subcontractor going direct with the client down the road ?

Have a look at your own contract with the agency. It will have a clause specifically to stop you from doing it. Make sure it is in the contract you give to the subby.

What I a am concerned about is the client/agent going direct with the subcontractor. Basically dropping me alltogether. There is no way I will know if they decide to dump me.

You're right. The same that an agency can't tell whether you have gone back without involving them, apart from asking the client and/or contractor every so often where you are working.
